Mckenzie's dance mini session at Romare Bearden Park in the beautiful Charlotte, NC was so much fun! I really enjoyed getting to work with Mckenzie (aka Kenzie) and her super sweet mom. We had to reschedule due to rainy weather and I can't tell you enough how much I appreciate how flexible and kind these two were when finding a new day/time for her session! The day of her session, Mckenzie came ready to dance and looking beautiful while doing so.
When I start a dance session, I usually ask my dancer what their "strength" is. Most say leaps, extensions, or flexibility. However, Kenzie answered with a super unique response of, "Inversions." For those who don't know, this is a fancy word for variations of hand stands. I was so excited when she told me this because I knew we would get some unique and beautiful photos.
We started the session with head shots and quickly moved into dance photos. We shot at a couple of different locations on site to give Kenzie some variety in her gallery. Some of my favorites are the ones of her on the stairs with the gorgeous Charlotte skyline behind her! During dance sessions, I am very detailed and precise to make sure I get the perfect shot. I love utilizing my skills as a choreographer and dance teacher in the photo world to create some magic behind the camera. Kenzie took my suggestions and easily applied them to create these stunning photos of her doing what she loves.
It was such an honor to do Mckenzie's dance mini session. I hope she will treasure these photos for years to come! Keep scrolling to see all of her talent and beauty.
